Description
Teal, lime, mauve and sky blue stripes are accented with navy edging in this fabulous, flower-embellished crochet bikini. Rows of lifesize vinca blossoms dance from strategic points on the swimsuit- under the bust on the top, and across the top edges of the pant at front and back. While the style is exotic, it is sized for an actual person, with plenty of room for adjustment in the handtwisted ties.
The ties, with their teeny tassels, are generous in length, so the wearer may double-bow them for added security while frolicking in the waves.
And speaking of swimming… This is a swimsuit which can be confidently worn in the water. It should not fill with water and sag, because it is made of a soft, light, fine, 4ply 100 percent cotton yarn intended for crochet. The yarn contains ‘dressing’ (as for any new cotton clothing) which will wash out in the first swim or wash, leaving the bikini feeling softer.
It can be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle, handwashed and ironed (why you’d want to iron a bikini is beyond me) but please do not bleach or dry clean it (again, no idea why anyone would dry clean a swimsuit…?)
The design for this bikini is my own- no patterns were harmed in its making.
The bikini should fit from size 14A-18A (Australia/UK) or 42-46 (Eu) or (10-14 US)- bust 98cm/38”-108cm/43” and hips 106cm/42”- 116cm/46” approximately- there’s a little leeway in that estimate, the ties are generously sized and the cups can be slid along the lower tie to accommodate a little more curvaceousness in the bust area. That tie (around the rib area) is encased within a special crochet ‘sleeve’ for extra security and better fit- the cups should not slide easily while the top is being worn. The pant coverage is slightly cheeky.
My display mannequin is a standard size 10 (Aus/UK) or 6 (US), so this bikini is quite large on her- the sides of the pant almost meet at the sides, and I’ve had to slide the cups along quite a bit to get the top to fit.
Please note: there is some ‘give’ in the crochet fabric, so when stretched (that is, tied in place) most measurements may be a little larger (eg. top of pant at front and back, width and length of cup). I did NOT stretch the fabric when measuring. If you have any questions about size, or would like me to remeasure with stretch, please feel free to send me a convo.

Width of cup- 20cm/6”
Height of cup- 19cm/7.5”
Width of pant front at top- 23cm/9”
Width of pant back at top- 28/11”
Length of pant from top of front to top of back- 41cm/16”
Width of pant at narrowest point of crotch- 7cm/3”
Length of neck ties- 49cm/19”
Length of tie around body (one long tie threaded through base of cups)- 193cm/76”
Length of front pant ties- 50cm/19.5”
Length of back pant ties- 56cm/22”
Shipping-
I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends, when the local post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.
Tracking will be provided for destinations which allow tracked parcels- that includes Australia, UK and US.
At present I’m using Express post within Australia, just to make sure parcels arrive as fast as possible.
