Fluoro Fish hat- The Fanged Finagler

The Fanged Finagler is a bold beguiler! With his black head, bright red and orange body scales, yellow belly scales, and his gleaming white teeth, I reckon he’s a bottom-dweller from some deep, almost-lightless ocean trench. Those fluoro colours and glowing, boggly eyes simply shout, ‘weird marine creature who likes to lurk in the dark’.

The Fanged Finagler has extra-large teeth of various shapes and he loves to clamp them and his ribbed, high-vis lips around a human head. (The slightly-stretchy rib helps his lips to stay comfortably secure.) But don’t worry- he’s no great white shark, he’s way too bright for that! According to those teeth- set in and set off by hot pink gums- he’s probably an omnivore, with enormous, pointy canines and big, square incisors.

He would love to wrap those impressive teeth around a medium-to-large sized cranium of up to 60cm/23”. He would also love to hang out with whoever’s noggin he’s nibbling on at a festival or party- his eyeballs and lips are so super-bright they almost glow in the dark. I can just imagine his wearer being visible in low lighting only by the vivid green and yellow eyeballs (lightly accented with metallic glitz), the huge, hi-vis tangerine lips and those great big, whacky, white teeth apparently attached to their head..!

His fluffy dorsal and tail fins are wired and pose-able, while his eyeballs are filled with synthetic padding (which itself is contained inside a knit-fabric bag inside each eyeball).

The Fanged Finagler is a unique piece of wearable Art, designed and robustly crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in his making.

He is made from a combination of natural and synthetic yarns- mainly soft, pure Australian wool and fluffy brushed wool. The black yarn in his head is all beautifully soft and light brushed wool, while his scales are a mix of natural and synthetic fibres, with wool and mohair predominating. His teeth and lips are synthetic, for their super-bright colours. So, while he likes a swim, please don’t put him in hot water, please! He can be handwashed and rinsed in lukewarm water, then rolled in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and laid flat to dry. Please do not machine wash or tumble dry him.

Shipping
I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends, because the local post office is closed Saturday and Sunday. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.

At present I am sending parcels within Australia by Express post to make sure they arrive as soon as possible. Buyers will have a tracking number so they can follow their parcel’s progress, so long as the postal service in their country allows it. Tracking numbers will be sent as soon as I post the parcel.
