Yellow bellied toothy fluoro rainbow crochet fish hat- Oscar

Description

‘Oscar’ is a super-bright, rainbow-toned, be-fanged, large-scaled, big-lipped, crochet fish hat. His 3D scales shade from royal purple and fuschia at the front, through orange, pink, yellow and blue, all accented with little touches of white, such as his fluffy pectoral fins.

Oscar has ridiculously-large, pointy teeth of various sizes and he loves to clamp them and his high-vis lips around a human head. (The slightly-stretchy rib of his wide lips helps him to stay comfortably secure.) But don’t worry- even though his 3D crochet teeth are all pointy, suggesting that he is a carnivorous fish, they actually are quite soft.

As mentioned, he is sized to wrap those impressive teeth around craniums of most sizes, up to about 60cm/23”. He would also love to hang out with whoever’s noggin he’s nibbling on at a festival or party- he is so super-bright that he would just about glow in the dark. I can just imagine his wearer being visible in low lighting only by his fluoro-and-white-variegated head, his huge, hi-vis lime, hot pink, orange and purple lips and those great big, whacky, white teeth set in hot pink gums, apparently attached to their head..!

His fluffy pink and yellow dorsal and tail fins are wired and pose-able, while his pretty blue pupils (on white eyeballs) are filled with washable synthetic padding, like that used in pillows.

Oscar is a unique piece of wearable Art, designed and crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in his making. He is robustly constructed and, with a little care, should give his owner many years of enjoyable wear.

While technically, he may be a carnivorous fish, Oscar is suitable for vegans, because he is made from all synthetic fibres, along with a little millinery wire. So, while he likes a swim, please don’t put him in the washing machine! He can be hand-washed and rinsed, then rolled in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and laid flat to dry. Please do not bleach, machine wash or tumble dry him.

Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends and public holidays, when the post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.

Buyers will have a tracking number if possible for their destination (it is for Australia, the US and UK, plus many other destinations.)
