Description
This little fellow is a very rare, Australian dinosaur, whose speciality is to grab and hold Stuff. Like specstacles, paintbrushes, crochet hooks… you name it, so long as it fits in his hands, he’ll keep it secure. His legs, arms and fingers are all individually wired and poseable, so he can grasp all sorts of things.
His neck is also wired, in spring-fashion, so his head will nod and move with the wearer’s movements, and can be gently raised, tilted and turned.
He has exquisite, sparkling, handpainted, holographic safety eyes by Darkside Eyes. At the opposite end, he has a nicely rounded bottom. This is accented by his white belly.
Grabosaurus is a deep teal-ish blue, not as dark as navy, not quite pthalo blue, more of a slightly-green-tinted deep blue. His spine ridge is variegated of that blue, white and teal.
Scholars are still discussing whether this is protective colouration or camouflage, or if it just makes him more attractive to other dinosaurs… Judging by his cheeky grin, I reckon it’s the latter.
The Grabosaurus ‘sits’ on a band of light green rib crochet, which is slightly stretchy to keep him snug around the wearer’s noggin. His wired head, extremities and limbs are all padded with synthetic fill to keep them pleasingly plump.
He is sized to warm and enliven a cranium of up to 60cm/23”.
He is a unique, individual piece of durable, wearable Art headgear, designed and robustly crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in his making.
He is wired with high quality, cotton wrapped millinery wire, and padded with washable synthetic fill.
The Grabosaurus is made from pure, soft, non-scratchy Australian wool. He doesn’t mind a bath, but please handwash and rinse him gently in lukewarm water, then roll him in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and lay him on his tummy to dry flat-tish. Do not bleach, machine wash or tumble dry him. With care, Grabosaurus should give his owner many years of fun.
Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends and public holidays, when the local post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.
Tracking is provided to all destinations which allow for it. That includes Australia, the US and UK Canada and New Zealand. Customers should receive the tracking number in an email when I mark it as posted (as soon as it’s in the mail).
Grabosaurus is also listed in my etsy shop here.
