Soft Long Tailed Crochet Stocking Cap- Misty Mystique

Description

This soft toned and soft textured long-tailed stocking cap features the muted shades of a foggy dawn- denim and bright blues, velvety blacks, royal purples and cerises, accented sparingly with ochre and twinkling with silver glitz. The fuzzy forehead band is variegated black and ochre, and the entire hat is completed with an edging row of silky, feathery yarn in all those tones.

Never lose your scarf again! Misty Mystique hat’s fancy, spheroided tail acts as an attached scarf- perfect to wrap around the wearer’s neck for extra warmth and style. The tail measures approx. 145cm/57”/4’9”, including the luxuriantly thick, fluffy tassel of 20cm/8” with its 12cm/5” hand twisted cord.

Overall, the stocking cap boasts a huge variety of crochet stitches and techniques, from complex entarsia/tapestry crochet stripes and zigzags, to 3D crochet cables, bobbles, puff, bead and berry stitches.

Tapestry crochet techniques are used throughout, especially in the crown section, with its seven pointed petal motif which is ‘studded’ with variegated bobbles. The lower ‘segments’ of the crown section (outside the petals) are crocheted in a gorgeous variegated wool-mix designer yarn which has a silvery sheen yet feels silky.

Misty Mystique should snuggle around most craniums from small and medium up to large- 59cm/23”.

This hat is a unique, individual piece of wearable Art headgear, designed and robustly crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in its making. It should give its owner years of warm wear, provided it is washed carefully.

It is made from an eclectic mix of yarns- mostly wool and wool-mix in the crown, with assorted natural and synthetic fibres in the tail. This hat is soft and snuggly to wear, with no scratchy yarns whatsoever!

Please handwash and rinse Misty Mystique in lukewarm water, then roll in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and dry flat. Do not machine wash, bleach or tumble dry.

Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends and public holidays, when the local post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.

Most parcels will ship with tracking, where destinations allow for tracking (Aus, USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand and many others all do).
