The Ginger Critter Crochet Beanie

Description

This beanie sprouts perky little horns, and floppy, loppy ears. It is unashamedly vibrant and ever so soft and eminently-wearable.

Tapestry crochet techniques form the crown’s teal, purple and forest green, zigzag seven pointed star motif, featuring bright orange 3D bobbles. A broad band of silky-soft, fluffy, orange designer yarn snuggles around the base of the hat, which is then edged in a ginger, hairy yarn.

The ears are backed in the same teal yarn used in the crown, edged with the same orange fluffy yarn and lined with a mushroom-pink yarn.

The royal purple, forest green and mushroom-pink yarns are all plied with, respectively, tiny purple, gold and silver sequins to add a hint of sparkle. That sparkle can be seen in the pics as little pinpoints of white.

The 5cm/2” tall horns are also edged with that fluffy orange yarn, and are striped in purple, green and hi vis orange.

The Ginger Critter is medium to large in size, best suited to cuddle and adorn a cranium of between around 56cm/21.5” to 59cm/23”.

This hat is a unique, individual piece of wearable Art headgear, designed and robustly crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in its making.

The Ginger Critter is made from an eclectic collection of natural and synthetic fibres. The horns are padded with washable synthetic polyfill. Please handwash the beanie and rinse it in lukewarm water, then roll in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and dry flat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends, when the local post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.

Tracking is provided for all destinations which allow for it via Australia Post.

Australians- at present I’m sending all hats by express post- this gets them to their new homes faster and allows for tracking.
