Rainbow Crochet Octopus Hat with Secret Hidden Pockets, ‘Shady’

Description

Shady is a vibrant, cheerful, crochet octopus hat in all the colours of the rainbow, from red at the top of his crown, through to purple at his tentacle tips. And he has a little secret… He is not just a cute piece of wearable art, he’s also useful! Shady is fabulous for warming the cranium, and he can carry stuff for his wearer- like a light jacket in his head. Small items like keys, pens or paintbrushes can be stashed inside his tentacles- each one is a long, narrow, hidden pocket.

While his body and the upper side of her tentacles shade through the colours of the spectrum, the underside of his tentacles is a pale, variegated yarn in most of the colours, with the suckers in reversed rainbow order. Shady is edged in a matching, multicoloured, variegated yarn. His eyeballs are worked in two shades of hi vis green, which should glow under lights, with deep purple, slitted pupils.

Shady is large in size, best suited to a wearer with a noggin of up to 60cm/23.5”.

He is a unique, individual piece of wearable Art, designed and crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in his making.

I have photographed him with some padding inside his head, to give an idea of what he looks like with something soft inside it. Without the padding, his head is a little squishier.

Shady is made from synthetic yarns, his eyeballs are padded with washable synthetic fill, and he is vegan-friendly. He doesn’t mind a swim, but please handwash and rinse him in lukewarm water, then roll in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and dry flat. Do not bleach, machine wash or tumble dry him.

Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends and public holidays, when the local post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.

Tracking- I provide tracking wherever the country of destination allows for it. That includes Australia, US, UK, Canada and New Zealand.

Australians- I’m presently sending all my hats within Australia by Express Post to ensure they arrive as quickly and reliably as possible, with tracking.
