Bold Hearted Scood or hood, scarf, capelet combo art garment

Description

Blue, cream and mauve heart motifs contrast with a deep burgundy background studded with 3D stitches, all over this stunning, long tailed scood, or hood, scarf and capelet combination crochet art garment. Like the large heart-shaped motifs, the colours are bold without being loud. The burgundy background yarn, pure Australian wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills, is particularly luscious.

The romantic, deeply draping hood section can be flicked back to warm the wearer’s shoulders as a fluffy-edged cape. The tapestry crochet techniques used mean that the heart motifs are clear on both sides.

Long, luxuriant scarf ends, with slight flares to the lower ends, measuring 76cm/30” boast thick, 20cm/8” long fringes, while the spheroided, swishing tail section measures 89cm/35”, including the luxuriant tassel of 18cm/7” and the 10cm/4” long, twisted cord from which it dances.

This is a unique, individual piece of wearable Art, designed and crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in its making.

The Dark Hearted Scood is a ‘one size fits most’ garment- including plus sizes. The neckline is generously sized and can be worn snug or loose- just wrap or knot the scarf ends where you feel comfortable. It is shaped to stay in place when not tied, and when worn reversed as a capelet.

Soft, luxurious natural fibres mixed with a small amount of synthetics make this exquisite and exotic item beautifully wearable, fuzzy, drape-able and light. It is composed of primarily natural fibres- mainly pure, soft Australian wool and pure mohair, a little wool-synthetic mix yarn, and the fluffy edges are made of synthetic fibres. The wool-synthetic mix, which is extra soft and a little silky, along with a row of soft, fuzzy eyelash yarn surrounds the neckline, as they are the softest of the fibres and the nicest to wear close to your throat.

Please handwash and rinse the scood in lukewarm water- woolwash is best- roll in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, then dry flat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends and public holidays, when the post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.
