Colourful Crochet Stocking Cap- Black Rainbow- extra long tail

Description

This dramatic, extra-long-tailed stocking cap features vibrant rainbow shades, bouncing against velvety blacks. The tail shades through all the colours of the spectrum from red to purple, from bottom to top. The crown also shades through all seven tones, made more vivid by the black background.

Never lose your scarf again! The Black Rainbow hat’s fancy, spheroided tail acts as an attached scarf- perfect to wrap around the wearer’s neck for extra warmth and style. The tail measures approx. 145cm/57”/4’9”, including the luxuriantly thick, fluffy tassel of 18cm/7” with its 5cm/2” hand twisted cord.

Overall, the stocking cap boasts a huge variety of crochet stitches and techniques, from complex entarsia/tapestry crochet stripes and zigzags, to 3D crochet cables, bobbles, puff, bead, popcorn and berry stitches.

Tapestry crochet techniques are used throughout, especially in the crown section, with its black zigzag motif which is ‘studded’ with rainbow-variegated bobbles. The entire head section has a broad, lower band of fuzzy black ‘feathers’ yarn and is edged with a row of black eyelash yarn, crocheted together with a matching strand of the rainbow-variegated yarn in the bobbles.

The Black Rainbow stocking cap should fit and enliven most craniums from small, up to large- 59cm/23”.

This hat is a unique, individual piece of wearable Art headgear, designed and robustly crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in its making. It should give its owner years of warm wear, provided it is washed carefully.

It is made from an eclectic mix of yarns, mostly synthetics for the brightness of the colours. But there are also natural fibres, including wool and mohair. This hat is soft and snuggly to wear, with no scratchy yarns whatsoever!

Please handwash and rinse the Black Rainbow in lukewarm water, then roll in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, and dry flat. Do not machine wash, bleach or tumble dry.

Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends and public holidays, when the local post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.

Tracking- Most parcels will ship with tracking, where destinations allow for tracking (Aus, USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand and many others all do).

Australians- at present I’m sending all hats by express post to ensure they arrive quickly and can be tracked.
