This warm, soft, long tailed scood, or hood, scarf and capelet combination features berry and cherry tones in gorgeous, soft yarns. Burgundy bounces against black, orange contrasts with deep, teal blues, and touches of rich ochre add tonal spice. Teeny tiny sequins and glitzy yarns add a little glitz.
The romantic, deeply draping hood section can be flicked back to reverse over the wearer’s shoulders. The tapestry crochet techniques used mean that the geometric and textural motifs are also clear on the reverse side.
Beautifully soft merino wool and wool-mix yarns made in Australia rub shoulders with brushed wool, mohair, silk, alpaca and synthetics. While the super silky-soft, orange front band is synthetic, it just feels so lovely around the wearer’s face. The huge majority of the hood section yarns are gorgeous natural fibres which will be warm light and drape beautifully, with bright and fluffy synthetics in the tail to add interest.
Long, luxuriant bell-bottomed scarf ends measuring 76cm/30” boast thick, 15cm/6” long fringes, while the spheroided, swishing tail section measures 94cm/37”, including the thick, full tassel of 15cm/6” and the 10cm/4” long, twisted cord from which it swings.
This is a unique, individual piece of wearable Art, designed and crocheted by myself. No patterns were harmed, or even used in its making.
The Berry Cherry Scood is a ‘one size fits most’ garment. The neckline is generously sized and can be worn snug or loose- just wrap or knot the scarf ends where you feel comfortable.
Soft, luxurious natural fibres mixed with a small amount of synthetics make this exquisite and exotic item beautifully wearable, fuzzy, drape-able and light. It is composed of primarily natural fibres with a small amount of synthetic fibres. A soft, slightly shiny, silky-textured wool-synthetic mix surrounds the neckline, as it is soft and nice to wear close to your throat.
Please handwash and rinse the scood in lukewarm water- woolwash is best- roll in a towel to gently squeeze out excess moisture, then dry flat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Shipping- I use Australia Post and usually send out parcels within 24 hours, except on weekends, when the post office is closed. Shipping to the US/UK should take about a week to ten days, but unfortunately shipping delays can happen sometimes, especially over the Christmas period. If that’s the case, let me know and I can follow up the parcel’s progress from this end and keep buyers informed.
Tracking- this scood will be shipped with tracking to all destinations which allow it- that includes the US, UK, Australia and many other countries.
I am presently shipping all items sent within Australia by Express Post, at no extra cost to customers.
